ZCON Thursday

Thursday started a bit hung over and late with another Starbucks…just call me basic. We met up with Tyler and Steph with the Q50, and got some Mexican food for lunch. After lunch we all took a dip in the pool trying to catch a tan. At about 4:30 Eric with Momentum Media and I went back to pikes peak to try and get some more rolling shots and photos with different lighting. I don’t have all the photos yet, but the ones that are finished are below… and damn.

ZCON Tuesday

My first day at ZCON 2021 was awesome! We started at Pikes Peak with a group of about ten cars per run group. We were told not to do over 30 mph, which is understandable, the speed limit on the mountain is 30mph and the hair pins are intense and banked. We started filming for my ZCON video with our run group… the footage sneak peaks I’ve seen are absolutely killer.

Once we got back from Pikes Peak, there was a Suds and Shine area at the host hotel. Basically an area with a car wash station to clean off all the dust your car accumulated up and down the mountain. It’s also a place where everyone can see each other and chat and hang out.

From the Suds and Shine we left for the Opening Ceremonies and the Z Reveal Party! The scenery was absolutely gorgeous there, and the venue was beautiful. It was an awesome feeling being literally surrounded by other Z enthusiasts while watching the new Z being revealed via YouTube. I almost had a ‘I’m not crying, your crying moment. If you missed it heres a link:

Just a ‘Smoke’ Break

Everyone is entitled to a 10 minute break/Smoke break. My buddy Josh at work and I decided to take the term ‘Smoke Break’ into another form…a bit healthier.

Both of us are Supercharged now, we initially came out to take photos of our cars, but then I sweet talked him into letting me do some fancy driving around his car…took more coaxing than you would think!

Thanks Josh!

ZDAYZ 2014 Adventure

Original Plan;

Knowing it was going to be close if the Z32 would be ready or not…

1. Buy plane tickets to Texas.

2. Fly to Texas to pick up race car aka Z32 from EPRacing.

3. Bring car to the Tail of the Dragon for ZDAYZ.

What actually happened;

1. Get notice Sunday that the car was not going to be ready.

2. Ditch plane tickets.

3. Pack up the 350Z

4. Start driving one hour later

Passing a few states, visiting my mom on Mothers Day in Arizona, getting into Dallas Monday.

Visiting the guys at Courtesy Nissan, getting the Z washed, and grabbing some lunch with them on my quest to find the road trips best BBQ we went to Bone Daddy’s… super good food, and for the fellas there were scantily clad dressed women.

Needing to kill a few hours we took the Z to a few spots and did a photo shoot around Mckinney and Plano;

Getting an invite from Billy at Courtesy to come to Mad Mikes house for a BBQ/party we decided to stay another day in Dallas. The next morning we cruised out bright and early with Mad Mike and Tetsu from Japan who were both also going to ZDAYZ.

We parted ways with Mike and Tetsu around the Birmingham area and we headed north while they headed towards Z1. We made it to Chattanooga Tennessee later that night and met up with the guys and gals from Louisiana and cruised up with them for the rest of the road trip to Tail of the Dragon. Stopping at a Walmart on the way for some necessities.

Once we got to Fontana Villiage we didn’t waste any time getting into the Moonshine

A few rolling around ZDAYZ pictures;

Cant forget Beer-limpics… well i’m sure some did.

A couple shots around Deals Gap and The Dragon;

Here is the #Selfie video if by chance you haven’t seen it yet… I’d like to think of it as a funny video yearbook of what really happens at ZDAYZ;

Since the Dam Photo was cancelled due to weather, we decided to venture off and check it out and take a few photos as well…

And who can forget Nissan making the 2015 Nismo 370Z debut at ZDAYZ!! (Those seats are to die for)

Before leaving Sunday morning, Aaron-winner of the best tape job and I cruised by the dam and did a few donuts around him.

The day we left, we cruised out with the Memphis Z Club and took more pictures. Once we got to Memphis we got some amazing BBQ.

Cruising out of Memphis back to Ft Worth were I visited Mitch at EPRacing… oh yeah and my race car 😀 It’s so close!!!

The next day I started my long journey from Ft Worth back to Phoenix where I was going to be drifting in a Car Street Journal event, but it got postponed until June. Instead of sitting around, we decided to go to the big car show that happens every weekend at the Scottsdale Pavilions. Met up with Shane Schuller, Simon Parsons, Nicole Ellan, and Rebecca Nguyen.

Cars and Coffee With a Side of the Nissan 360 Event

This Labor Day weekend has been awesome. Saturday morning we woke up bright and early before the sun rise to get to Cars and Coffee in Irvine CA.
Nissan Design was there with some vintage Silvia’s and a vintage Skyline race car. Andy Juang brought his R33 Skyline, Symbolic brought four Bugatti Veyron’s, and Magnus Walker brought some cool Porsche’s.

After meeting up with some of the awesome guys from Nissan Design, we cruised down the way to the Nissan 360 experience and got to see some of the concept cars from Nissan and Infiniti, saw some of the Nissans from all over the world with the different designs to fit the different demographics, and saw the GTR GT3-which gave me some ideas on what to do for my Z.

And I know you want to see more of that GTR….

Here’s a little bit of the Journey!
Thank you EP Racing… You have built one hell of a smooth engine that I can’t wait to beat the $hit out of.
Thank you to Specialty Z for getting everything dialed in and the tune for my AEM stand alone!
Thank you to Courtesy Parts/Nissan for all of my OE parts, it’s like a brand new Z now!
Thank you to Z1 Motorsports, that PG Exhaust system is the effing loudest thing-seriously tickles my ear drums!
Thank you to Clutch Masters for the 6 puck, clutch kicking will be just aggressive enough.
Thank you Nestor A. For the great deal on the internal engine components!!
And thank you to everyone that helped with the uninstall and install of the motors!

ZDAYZ Oh My!

I have been sitting here for the past five minutes thinking about how to start talking about Zdayz when I came to the conclusion that there isn’t a series of words that can describe it. Its 24 hours of Z craziness every day. The days include Z chats and driving the Tail of the Dragon, pretty normal stuff. The nights… The nights are like a cocktail of bonfire craziness surrounded by everyone that has the same passions you have mixed with many shots of moonshine…many.
The pictures I have are kind of scattered. but take them in whatever order you’d like. They start with the drive there, getting there and all that is ZDAYZ, and the long rainy drive home.
